Instructor Biography - Daniel Svoboda

Daniel Svoboda is Chairman of the association Development Worldwide and an independent consultant, lecturer and evaluator. He is a founding member of the Czech Evaluation Society, and member of the European Evaluation Society and the International Development Evaluation Association (serving as its Vice-President in 2009-2012). As a Board member he also represents the Czech NGO platform FoRS in several working structures of the European NGO Confederation CONCORD and of the global platform CPDE – CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness.

In 2007–2017, he coordinated EPDET – European Program for Development Evaluation Training. Since 2009 he works for the European Commission as a member of the external monitoring team for the environmental program LIFE. Since 2014, he is a member of the Reference Group on Evaluations of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since 2017, he is a lecturer of Development Project Management at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, and since 2018 a lecturer of IPDET 2.0 – International Program for Development Evaluation Training at the University of Bern.
