Instructor Biography - Jos Vaessen



Dr Jos Vaessen is an adviser in evaluation methods at the IEG. He holds a PhD from Maastricht University and has worked on evaluation assignments in international development since 1998, first as an academic and consultant for bilateral and multilateral development organizations, and later as an evaluator and evaluation manager at UNESCO’s evaluation function in Paris. His fields of interest include the theory and practice of evaluation, impact evaluation, rural development, environment, and education. In addition to managing and conducting evaluations, Dr Vaessen regularly serves on reference groups of evaluations of different organizations. He has been co author of more than 30 international peer reviewed publications, including three books.
