Jason Mayfield

Independent Evaluation Group (IEG)

In his current role in the World Bank’s Independent Evaluation Group (IEG), Jason is responsible for program coordination of several of IEG’s Evaluation Capacity Development (ECD) initiatives including the International Program for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET) and the Centers for Learning on Evaluation and Results (CLEAR) Initiative. Jason has led efforts to build synergies between IEG’s ECD initiatives and reduce fragmentation while leveraging the unique strengths of the various initiatives.

Jason has over twenty years of experience with the World Bank Group and has held a variety of positions in Africa, Central Asia, Europe, and Latin America as well as corporate assignments in Operations Policy and Country Services (OPCS) where he coordinated the World Bank’s network of Country Directors and Managers.

A United States national, Jason has a master’s degree from Georgetown University in International Security with a focus on sanctions theory and pandemic risk. Jason has travelled extensively and visited all 193 United Nations member states and runs marathons in his free time.
