Kecia Bertermann

Kecia Bertermann leads evaluation and learning at Luminate, part of the Omidyar Network, where she oversees the monitoring, evaluation and learning of a portfolio of governance projects related to civic empowerment, data & digital rights, financial transparency and independent media, applying systems-aware evaluation methods to complex interventions. Kecia is a mixed-methods researcher and evaluator and has worked in monitoring, evaluation and research in Africa and Asia for more than ten years with a focus on the intersection of digital technologies and behavior change, participatory methodologies and gender inclusion. She began her career in public health, and most recently led Girl Effect’s learning and research related to digital programs and behavior change, creating innovative initiatives such as the Girl Research Unit and the Girl Impact Map. Kecia holds an MPH from Loma Linda University.
