The development of national Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) structures is essential for evidence-based political decision-making and achieving the 2030 Agenda goals. In 2016, the Center for Evaluation at Saarland University began a research project to analyze the institutionalization of evaluation in political, social, and professional systems across 52 countries. This study, conducted by 159 national experts, offers best practices and insights to strengthen evaluation structures worldwide.
In the fishbowl discussion, Prof. Dr. Reinhard Stockmann from Saarland University presented the research findings, focusing on the factors influencing the institutionalization of evaluation in different countries. IPDET participants shared their experiences on the topic.

To celebrate the rich diversity within IPDET, we once again organized the IPDET World Exhibition. Participants brought a variety of cultural and country-related items from home, which were displayed and shared with one another. This activity emphasized the cultural aspects of IPDET and the wide range of participants’ backgrounds. It fostered meaningful exchanges, encouraging deeper understanding and learning about different cultures.
