In her current position as director of the Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Bern (ZUW), Dr. Christina Cuonz leads the strategic development of the University’s continuing education sector containing more than 120 programs. Dr. Cuonz is an adult education and lifelong learning specialist with an expertise in program and instructional design, academic leadership and higher education partnership development. As the head of ZUW she leads a team of 30 experts who advise in the fields of continuing education marketing, program development, implementation, evaluation and quality assurance. She has introduced several innovation projects at the University of Bern including a project aiming at deeply customer-centered, personalized and modularized continuing education formats. Dr. Cuonz has over 15 years of experience within the higher education sector and has held a variety of positions in research, teaching and management. She studied at the Universities of Lausanne, Oslo and Edinburgh and holds a PhD in the field of Cognitive Sociolinguistics. Teaching is among her passions and she has taught on topics related to language and communication as well as higher education management. Dr. Cuonz is currently vice-president of the Swiss Association for Continuing Education and board member of various continuing education programs including the Master of Advanced Studies in Evaluation at the University of Bern.
